This easy Sesame Chicken recipe makes a delicious dinner. We first encountered this recipe as an appetizer served on toothpicks. It was absolutely delicious. However, we quickly realized that with some rice and veggies it could be a whole meal! With tender chicken pieces and a delicious tangy glaze, this Sesame Chicken is sure to please.
Ingredients in Sesame Chicken
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts – You can also use boneless skinless chicken thighs. Either way you will cut the chicken into bite size pieces. Sesame Oil – Sesame oil has a very strong flavor. Just a tablespoon of oil gives this Sesame Chicken recipe its classic sesame flavor. If you don’t have sesame oil, you can use canola oil or vegetable oil, but it won’t have quite the same flavor. Chicken Broth – you can also use chicken stock. Sriracha – We like our chicken to have a little kick, but you can leave the Sriracha out or substitute it with sweet chili sauce for a more mild flavor. Balsamic Vinegar – you can use white vinegar with a splash of rice vinegar as a substitute if needed. Low-Sodium Soy Sauce – Make sure to use low-sodium, otherwise it will have too much salt. Brown Sugar – you can also use honey. Garlic Ginger Sesame Seeds
Make it a Meal
We love to pair this sesame chicken with rice and veggies for a well rounded dish. If you are adding vegetables to this recipe, fry them in the oil in the pan first, before the chicken and then set aside in a bowl. After you cook the chicken and make the glaze, add the veggies back in and stir to coat. Some of our favorite veggies to add include broccoli, sugar snap peas, red bell pepper, asparagus, green beans, carrots and green onion. When it comes to rice, you can use white, brown or fried rice. We have also served it with noodles. Read Next: 35+ Quick and Easy To Follow Dinner Ideas Your Family Will Surely Love
