Making Ginger Syrup

The ginger flavoring in this homemade ginger ale recipe comes from a ginger syrup. To make the ginger syrup you add fresh peeled and grated ginger to a pot with water, sugar, and lemon juice and zest. The mixture will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
