This pineapple whip is one of our favorite and most versatile pineapple recipes. It’s a perfect dessert for bridal showers, summer picnics, family dinners or a late night sugar fix. And the pineapple whipped topping is so easy to make, you’ll find yourself making it all the time!
Ingredients in Angel Food Cake with Pineapple Whip
This simple dessert comes together with just a few ingredients! A box of angel food cake mix, your favorite betties, and a dollop of cool whip infused with pineapple flavors, this is one of the best! Here’s what you need:
Angel Food Cake – One box angel food cake prepared in a tube pan or bundt pan. You can also bake the cake batter in a regular baking dish or baking pan. Heavy whipping cream – You can find this in the dairy section of the grocery store. Vanilla Extract – About one teaspoon Powdered sugar – Two tablespoons for the whipped topping and more for dusting on top. Crushed pineapple – Use a 15 oz can, but do NOT drain. You’ll want all of that delicious juice to add pineapple flavor to the whipped topping. Vanilla pudding mix – one 3.4 oz package instant pudding. Strawberries – about two to three cups of sliced berries. You can also use blackberries, raspberries, any fruit you like.
Tips for Perfectly Fluffy Cake
It’s hard to mess up a box cake, so that’s why I love using one for this recipe. There are lots of homemade angel food cake recipes out there, but this one is so easy and delicious! Here are a few tips for getting perfectly light, delicious cake that looks like a million bucks!
Using a large mixing bowl, whisk your ingredients together at medium speed but don’t overmix. Follow directions on the cake box. It’s best to use an angel food cake pan for best results and to cook evenly in the oven. Make sure to spray your pan with cooking spray so the cake comes out clean. Lightly scoop batter into the pan and spread out so the cake bakes up evenly. Bake until the top is a gorgeous golden brown. You can also stick a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. Because this is such a light cake, use a serrated knife to cut slices. This will prevent the cake from smashing down against the knife. Cover leftover cake with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator or freezer.
